Security demands in the western region of Paraná have become increasingly frequent, especially regarding the border area encompassed by the Triple Frontier. This article aims to analyze the role of remotely piloted aircraft systems as a tool for surveillance, monitoring, and support in security operations along the western border of Paraná. To achieve this, a theoretical framework is adopted that understands borders as dynamic and strategic spaces characterized by networks of flows. Initially, a historical overview of the formation of the western Paraná border is presented. Subsequently, the territorial dynamics of border zones are identified. Next, the characteristics, possibilities, and limitations of drones are discussed. Finally, the results of the use of drones in security operations along the western border of Paraná are analyzed. The study demonstrates that the role of remotely piloted aircraft systems goes beyond a recreational perspective, consolidating itself as a strategic instrument in operational deployment for crime prevention, surveillance, and border monitoring, presenting tangible results for society.
