UMA ANÁLISE SOBRE ESSA MODALIDADE DE CRIME NO ANO DE 2020 NA FRONTEIRA BRASIL/BOLÍVIA

The article portrays an analysis about rented vehicles used for the so-called "rented car scam", specifically in the year 2020 between the Brazil/Bolivia border, located at the Mato Grosso do Sul State, where the Federal Highway Police has circumscriptional units. The purpouses are: to learn about how has been celebrated the contract between the car rental company and the client; to analyze this scam origin and evolution, as well learning how the "insurance scam" migrated to this diferent type of fraud; to demonstrate the amount of crimes involving rented vehicles in the circumscription of the Federal Highway Police unity at Corumbá/MS; to analyze the Federal Highway Police procedures to reduce this kind of scam and also to approach the different jurisprudential understanding about the crimes involving the same scam; As methodology, a qualitative approach was made through systemic, documental and bibliographic researches, as well as semi-structured interviews with judiciary police agents and delegates. The results presented show the concern of the actors involved and what kind of practical actions are being developed against this type of crime. Thus, it can be concluded that the car rental scamed using foments the cross-border crimes and feeds the illegal activities in Bolivia, where these vehicles are freely traded.
