Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the results of drug seizures resulting from cooperation between the Federal Highway Police and other security forces in Campo Grande-MS. Drug trafficking is the main type of transnational crime in the region, and Mato Grosso do Sul, with 1,517 km of the boundary line and 45 municipalities within the border strip, is particularly affected. Although federal, state, and municipal security forces are responsible for curbing illegal activities that may impact the stability of the country, integration is still a challenge. The article analyzes whether there has been evolution or stagnation in the cooperative actions aimed at combating drug trafficking between police institutions in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, and whether the established cooperation contributed to the increase in the volume of drugs seized by the PRF station in Campo Grande, after identifying which occurrences were the result of integrated work from 2020 to 2022. The number of cocaine and marijuana seizures in Campo Grande was a record in 2022, highlighting the complexity of combating drug trafficking in the region.
