This study addresses the performance of the Department of Border Operations (DOF) in combating organized crime in the border region of Mato Grosso do Sul, emphasizing the importance of the principles of police approach adopted by the Military Police of Mato Grosso do Sul (PMMS). The research presents the history of the DOF, its area of operation, main seizures, arrests, and recoveries of stolen vehicles, as well as an analysis of the doctrinal principles of police approach and their relationship with the success of DOF actions in combating organized crime and cross-border offenses. The study contributes to the understanding of the importance of the principles of police approach and their impact on the effectiveness of police actions in border contexts, in addition to suggesting possible practical and theoretical implications, as well as areas for future research and work.
